BTW, this is actually more a `tup` issue than a `gittup` issue. (I'm using just `tup`, not `gittup`). Shall I open a similar issue on the `tup` project as well?
It seems that this is related to gittup/tup#310. Does this mean that `tup` is only fully reliable when run as SUID root?
