Allow to define property types (integer, text, date…)

I'm sorry if this is an obvious question but I have a map with a marker on it and when I edit it allows me to put a name and description. Is there a way I can modify that form to collect other fields? Or add a new form entirely? I can't seem to find where in the code I should start. Any pointers would be appreciated.
