Add links to resources in the Help window
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. When you first discover uMap, you don't necessarily know that there's a great newsletter, a magic forum, etc. adding links to these resources would help users.
Describe the solution you'd like Add for example :
Where can I find help?
- uMap documentation (videos, articles, tutorials, faq)
- The uMap OSM Forum (tips, resources, requests for help from the user community)
- Newsletters (news, tutorials, tips and tricks)
- the Tchap channel for discussions with the team and the uMap public sector community
- CNFPT e-communities
Describe alternatives you've considered we have to define what we want to have by default / by instance
Additional context At the top of this window, we can keep links to simple actions related to a first discovery of uMap : Welcome to uMap, what do you want to do?
- Name the map
- Save the position
- Add a marker
- ...
@davidbgk @yohanboniface what do you think ? :)
We were talking about that yesterday! Especially to avoid getting flooded on the contact email, probably with an additional footer link to the OSM forum for general questions?
The help button seems very appropriate no ?
something like this for the osm instance 1- long version
2- short version
and for service public :
1- long version
2- short version
We could :
- add a button use un template
another ideaq :
- A feature to show/hide all tool labels
- When arriving at a map with no data, display the default help window
A feature to show/hide all tool labels
I even remember a discussion where we considered a scenario where clicking on the "Help" button would reveal all the tool labels (instead of opening a dialog where we repeat the button but with the labels)
BTW, I'm curious about what do you think users really need when starting a new map ?
Very simple first version:
For now:
- only one list so to keep the configuration simple
- we did not but the lines so to make consume less vertical space (mobile…)
What do you think ? :)
@yohanboniface I missed this notification ;( thks for this :)
I'll see if I can make suggestions directly in the CSS.
For the content, maybe we could remove ‘Card properties’ (to make it lighter)?
(The text I suggested was to link the titles and button labels.)
