Works fine for me. Maybe you have an old version or some mod that messes with the player model?

most likely a conflicting mod. Do you know of any conflicting forge mods?

I dont use Forge(or 1.18), but the usual like Epic Fight, I think this version still had issues with Essential, that scale mod the offset is a bit off? But I don't know about mods where it breaks the vanilla hands feature, only that other gun mods have the same issue due to how they add the 3rd person animations.
