Problem with downloading new content to a Creative-Tonie in the Tonie app

Open XerXes777 opened this issue 7 months ago • 9 comments

Describe the bug One specific Creative-Tonie fails to download new content after uploading via the Tonie app. After creating new content and performing the freshness check, an error message appears stating "no internet connection," and the new content does not download. Other Creative-Tonies are working properly under the same conditions.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Upload new content to the affected Creative-Tonie via the Tonie app.
  2. Trigger a freshness check.
  3. Observe the "no internet connection" error message.
  4. Content fails to download unless old content is removed manually.

Expected behavior The new content should download directly after the freshness check without needing to manually remove the old content.

Screenshots If applicable, add screenshots to help explain your problem.

Technical Details:

  • Version: 0.6.4
  • Docker YES
  • Docker image used: latest

Attach logs of teddyCloud log.txt

Additional context The problem only occurs with one specific Creative-Tonie. Other Creative-Tonies download new content successfully under the same conditions. Removing old content from the library first allows the new content to be downloaded without issues.

Did you buy this one new or used? 401 (unauthorized) Indicates that it could be used and still assigned to another household.

Both Creative-Tonies came with the Boxes. The non working tonie came with the grey box. It was working. In the time last Dezember. Then I have to change the teddycloud ip from ip to fix name. And I added a new box (Beere). And I make an update. The problem is we use these creative tonie feature long time ago. But with the new box it is working fine.

Both boxes are in the same household on Boxine side?

You might use the certs of the new box for both and check if it’s working then

Yes both boxes are in the same household on Boxine side.

You might use the certs of the new box for both and check if it’s working then How i can do that? I have direct access via FileZilla, so I can modify files.

EDIT: Okay, you mean I register the box on the Boxine side first. Then I use TeddyCloud with the internal IP. After that, I change the internal IP to a hostname. I then restore the backup and repeat the flashing procedure, but I don’t register the box again on the Boxine side.

While setting up the second box "Beere" in Teddycloud, I first copied the contents of the SD card from the "Grau" box to my computer—there were no issues with the "Beere" box or the "Beere" Tonie. Since I have 67 custom Tonies, I manually copy them to the SD card using Windows Explorer.

I was able to further narrow down the issue with the "Grau" box and the matching Tonie: I removed the content for the "Grau" Tonie and box from Teddycloud, deleted the box and Tonie from my.tonies.com, and installed the original firmware. After resetting the box and fully setting it up again through my.tonies.com, the "Grau" Tonie worked multiple times without issue.

Even after re-adding the box to Teddycloud, the "Grau" Tonie continued to work fine—until I copied the custom Tonies back onto the SD card. Then the error occurred: “Oh oh, the download was unfortunately interrupted. Please check your internet connection.” I tried several times without success. After completely erasing the SD card, old content was loaded first, and then the current content followed.

I had the same problem with the Tonie E0:04:03:50:18:4A:61:B3 (https://278163f382d2bab4b036-4f5ec62496a160f3570d3b6e48fc4516.ssl.cf3.rackcdn.com/10000157-50000831-b-St6GicV3.png), we assigned a new Wickie episode, did the refreshness check and the Docker log always showed Error 401 Unauthorized. I was finally able to solve it by moving the content from the library (/by/audioID) to another folder and removing the entry for the file in the properties of the Tonie.

The box then loaded the new content.
