Notebook Button Questionaire

The buttons shown enclosed in pink can be used for adding (+), removing (-) and editing (*) notebooks. The notebooks are selecting by single click and double click on any notebook opens up the edit notebook window.
Question : Should we get rid of buttons in the pink eclipse and just have the Add Notebook button in the main menu bar. Double click would provide a window called Edit Notebook, and in this window the user can either edit the notebook name or delete the notebook (delete notebook button). Does this comply with Apple HIG?
Any other suggestions how to handle this?
I think the bottom buttons should be gone (the ones in pink). It looks like you are configuration Tomboy. The New Notebook button I can see staying, although I’m not a fan of it.
What about Double-clicking in the notebook white space creates a new notebook?
The only problem with creating notebook by double clicking on white space is that at some point you might run out of white space.. then there would be no way left to create the notebooks.
Ugh! Valid point. -- Jared
