By easy, I mean the infrastructure for sending messages is already there. Creating a good interface is obviously the hard part!

Really? That's great news. I'd be happy to crack out a few designs. Been doing a web development course and would love to contribute to a project for experience. Start with mobile. How many users can join a chat?

Chat should just be available for everybody that is in the room. I envisage the chat should work like it does on hangouts or appear.in for example.

Just to warn you though, I don't see myself implementing this anytime soon. The core video product needs some love first.

Please feel more than welcome to contribute your ideas or designs though!
