With the snap version, you can at least go to preferences and explicitly select the theme that you want (e.g. Adwaita Dark)

This is specifically on Debian 12. Will test some more OS.

On Ubuntu 22.04, the snap does respect dark mode, but the flatpak does not. On Fedora 38, neither snap nor flatpak respect dark mode.

The selection is not something I've written explicity myselef. It's part of `Gtk.Grid`. My initial reaction was that it would be difficult to change, honestly.
