Describe the bug I receive an error message when running the AppImage

$ ./BreakTimer.AppImage
[811473:0114/132727.358849:FATAL:setuid_sandbox_host.cc(163)] The SUID sandbox helper binary was found, but is not configured correctly. Rather than run without sandboxing I'm aborting now. You need to make sure that /tmp/.mount_BreakTM1KYE5/chrome-sandbox is owned by root and has mode 4755.

The directory changes each time and is removed when the program exits.

seeing this with the tgz, extracted to a folder on Ubuntu 24.04, running the ./breaktimer executable.

Update: I resolved this by downloading the appimage binary instead.

I had to do a couple of tweaks though:

  • sudo apt install libfuse2 (source)
  • Run with the --no-sandbox option: BreakTimer.AppImage --no-sandbox

Closing because I've just released 2.0.0 which updates pretty much all dependencies which may affect this. Let me know if it still happens.
