No Audio Devices - Realtek ALC AppleHDA [Guide].pdf It would be worth mentioning that a no codec situation may happen if proper IRQ fixes on DSDT are not applied. I spent a lot of time trying to understand why sometimes CodecID was empty, and after some reboots / OS switches it was present (for a single boot). After fixing IRQs as per common Laptop Patches, codec is always active and I was able to make audio work with little effort. off on
