Right, this might take some effort since I'm not very familiar with Rust's lifelines and borrow semantics. I will give it a shot though.

So if it's not needed in 2.2 what does it do when we run it in Ruby 2.2?

I'm confused. It doesn't fail but it does nothing useful on 2.2? Or does it still provide a benefit when running under MRI Ruby 2.2?

@notedit It really depends on your use case. Both Redis and NATS don't guarantee delivery.

The cherrypy is a bit of an heavy dependency as it requires evntlib. Couldn't you use the django client instead?

We opted against using nats at the time being so no, sorry. This still should be supported and addressed to.
