Interested in extra_stacklevel feature from #69, and it's been over a year since last release

Created this issue in the same vein as #65

Did see bcebcf836f146370a163311a59b4d82cfa3921d6 preparing for a v1.2.15 release, although worth considering v1.3.0 instead b/c of the feature add
