[BUG] High CPU load on MacOS 26
Preliminaries I have ensured that:
- [x] I am running the latest version of Strongbox on the App Store by searching for Strongbox and clicking into it to see the Update button (or not)
- [x] I have performed a full restart of my device no matter how annoying that is
Versions On macOS (please complete the following information):
- OS: macOS Tahoe 26.0 Beta (25A5279m)
Strongbox Version:
- Version: com.markmcguill.strongbox.pro [1.61 (5752)-P]
Describe the bug I understand that this is a beta, but for some reason, Strongbox is very CPU-intensive even in the background. Now I need to close the program so that the laptop doesn't overheat. The problem is observed only if you unlock the database. I have several thousand records with OTP, passkeys, SSH keys, and many others. I do not know what exactly the CPU reacts to
To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Update MacOS to 26 Beta
- Open Strongbox
- Unlock database
- Check Activity monitor
Expected behavior I expect 0.3-3% CPU load on M1 Pro, like it was on 15 Sequoia

I've studied the issue a bit, and I think the problem is in the 2FA module. When creating and working with an empty database, everything looks fine, and the load is 0.1-0.3%. But if you add a record with 2FA, the load immediately increases to 38-47%.
So, macOS 26 is not in beta anymore, but the bug still exists

Having the same issue, Strongbox taking constantly ~40% CPU and causing typing lags. Apple M1 Max, 32 GB RAM, 26.0 (25A354)
Is this project still alive? I can see more and more issues in this project without any answer
The owner sold Strongbox... I don't think we will see that much development ... Sad but true.
