Clonezilla and popt 1.19

Open knoppmyth opened this issue 3 years ago • 1 comments

In building my own utility Linux distro, I came across a compatibility issue between popt 1.19 and Clonezilla 3.35.2. With popt 1.19 (packaged by Arch Linux), Clonezilla fails upon execution. /usr/sbin/clonezilla: line 46: 12635 Aborted $DIA --backtitle "$msg_nchc_free_software_labs" --title "$msg_nchc_clonezilla" --menu "$msg_clonezilla_is_free_and_no_warranty \n$msg_hint_multiple_choice_select_by_space \n$msg_device_image_device_clone. \n$msg_lite_server_and_client_are_provided \n$msg_choose_mode:" 0 0 0 $DIA_ESC "device-image" "$msg_device_image_clone" "device-device" "$msg_device_device_clone" "remote-source" "$msg_remote_clone_source" "remote-dest" "$msg_remote_clone_destination" $lite_server_msg_1 $lite_server_msg_2 $lite_client_msg_1 $lite_client_msg_2 2> $TMP Clonezilla mode is free(): invalid pointer "free(): invalid pointer" is an unknown or unsupported type! You have to specify a correct ocs_live_type (device-image or device-device)! Program terminated!! As the latest Arch ISO has Clonezilla and works without issue, I looked at the differences between the installed packages (my distro being built today) and noted a different in the versions of popt. The Arch ISO has 1.18-3. Sure enough, if I downloaded to 1.18-3 on my distro, Clonezilla runs without issue.
