Bug: App crash on light-mode/testnet toggle (automatic logout)
Bug Report
Problem
App crashes when toggling light client mode on.
Reproduction
- Settings > Advanced > Toggle light client mode on
- App reverts back to login screen
- Observe app freeze/crash, must quit app and reopen
Additional Information
- Status version: nightly
- Operating System: iOS
App freezes on this screen after toggle:
I reproduced it 1/30 attempts on release build, attaching logs from the crash panel testflight_feedback.zip
Giving that bug is rather rare, I wouldn't give it high priority now.
@chair28980 please, share more info if available - because by default light client should be enabled in nightly/release builds
also attached logs from your crash testflight_feedback (3).zip
@chair28980 thanks for reporting the issue!
I couldn't reproduce the freeze, however, I noticed that after one of the attempts, the Light client toggle remained off, even though I turned it on several times after that.
Could you check and tell us - is the toggle on or off at the moment in your profile? Thanks!
Just faced the same app freeze/crash when switching from mainnet to testnet, couldn't reproduce one more time, so it still looks random but related to the automatic logout.
Logs: logincrash.log
Reproduction
- Profile > Wallet > Network settings > Toggle
Testnet modeon - Enter your password on the login screen
- Observe app freeze/crash
I encountered this issue two months ago and reported it here, now it is closed as a duplicate. Here are the logs.login logs.txt
@churik @qoqobolo as of the very latest mobile version I can confirm that Light client is toggled ON on the initial open of the app. Toggling off sends me to the Password input screen, after toggling off I can confirm it stays toggled off, app does not crash.
I am noticing something a bit different now 😅
After toggling OFF Light mode, then back ON, it takes some time for the Advanced menu view to correctly display that Light mode is on. For example, I toggle ON Light mode, input password, arrive back at home screen, navigate back to advanced settings and observe Light mode is toggled off (should be on). I return to the home screen, then back to Advanced settings and only then does Light mode indicate it is toggled on.
Does that description make sense? Anyone else seething this?
More developments...
Immediately after my previous post I reopened the app and Light mode was toggled OFF, I attempted to toggle ON and the app crashed.
@chair28980 yes, thank you for description! Yes, that definitely makes sense, although we haven't faced with such behavior. I suggest to leave the issue open, though I'm not sure when we have time to properly address it to be honest.
