I'm curious how other apps have implemented this.

I added `-g3` to the `CXXFLAGS` in the Makefile to get more information on the backtrace.

I've got many Qt apps including Konqueror and Marble working without any problems.

[oh-my-zsh](https://github.com/robbyrussell/oh-my-zsh) makes it extremely easy to install a zsh prompt with git integration. Here's one that I made called [bender](https://github.com/specious/bender). Did it work with zsh before this change?
