Interrupt Pin Always Low

Hi, I'm currently trying to implement a function that will allow the Max30101 to fill up its FIFO and trigger an interrupt when its close to full. However you say that this functionality is not yet implemented, though it is in certain cases (temp sensor). What would be required to get the interrupt pin to not always pull down to 0 to allow me to make use of the enableAFULL and setFIFOAlmostFull functionality.
