This is a duplicate of #3281 and #2877 . From a logical point of view it makes sense that metadata is bound to an item, but unfortunately it is not...

Remove default persistence strategy and replace by suggested strategy

Is this related to #4677? Or is this different because there I don't have a standard strategy defined.
