Launcher should explicitly ask "are you 18+?" when enabling 18+ filter for the first time.
What kind of text should the popup have? Just "Are you 18+?" and then a Yes and No button? If the user presses No, should the 18+ filter be hidden? Or should it show the same popup until the user presses Yes?
Maybe it should ask for your date of birth? It could do this for 16+ servers also.

There's no plans to have auth actually track this information, as doing so is a liability.
This is what steam does when you open an age-restricted store page. I think we should just copy steam, but for when you try to join an age-restricted server.
Our plan for Steam was to make a free "18+" DLC that was age restricted, and gate the Steam launcher's 18+ filter behind that. My understanding is some other games do that too.
