There are third party typescript MCP servers like https://github.com/madhukarkumar/sourcegraph-mcp-ts

One of the many advantages of an MCP server over prompting to use the command line is the potential for advertising of what internal github.com repositories are available via sourcegraph so that AI tools do not naively use a web search to try to access them and fail
