Hi there,

looks like you have an issue with the jack audio server on your system. One approach would be to start this manually before starting Sonic Pi. That way, Sonic Pi will auto-detect an already running jack and use that rather than attempting to start its own.

Thank you I believe since I’m a Linux novice, I did it right I went into terminal and launched “jackd” after that in terminal I launch sonic pi. It came up to the splash screen and then I got the same error that I have been getting. Maybe I did not know how to lunch and jackd… should I have added any switches to make sure that it was running correctly? (and since I’m talking to you I just wanted to thank you for the app I just used it for a project in my intro to computer science class this past year. We ran it on MacBooks so we didn’t have this issue but I am very interested in the idea of recycling computers and if I can get it to work in Linux, that would be wonderful as part of an app tool set. I have a raspberry pi and it works great with that. Thank you, Keith
