define my proper searchControl outside the map container

hi smeijer, thanks for this wonderful plugin it's help me a lot, so i need to define my proper search control out the box of the map there is another problem , when use a marker , if i click on the search bar inside the map the marker will be appear behind the search bar so please can you help me specialy for the first problem (search control outside the map container) i try to modify the classNames of defaultOptions but it's not working ??

something new? i think it's a good idea to define search area outside of the map, for have more visibility.
