Offer per solution licencing
Related to case #556
Existing licensing is for per developer with unlimited solutions. This works for companies with a small number developers and lots of projects. However, it doesn't work so well for companies with a large number of developers and few projects.
| Name | Developers | Solutions | Years | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Per Developer | 1 | unlimited | 1 | 79 |
| Per Developer | 1 | unlimited | 5 | 275 |
| Per Solution | unlimited | 1 | 1 | ? |
| Per Solution | unlimited | 1 | 5 | ? |
Offering a per solution licensing model will solve the problem for companies with a large number of developers and few projects.
Is there now pricing per solution now? My company also has a large number of developers, and few projects.
Hi @mariahsiung-procu , Sorry no. I've not implemented a licence that would work for a solution yet. It would work as anyone can run a T4 template, but the generator is currently set to look into the Documents folder for the licence. I would need to change it to look into the projects folder for one instead. Coding wise, its straight forward. I need to work out what is a reasonable price for a per solution licence. I was thinking it could be based on team size for a solution. I will give it more thought.
Thanks for your quick response! My company is currently trying to use the generator for a large project. When do you think you'll have a solution? Based on the dates on this thread, it looks as though this has been an issue for a while, so I'm wondering what are your other users doing? Our project is just ramping up, so we're looking to get licensing squared away asap.
Hi @mariahsiung-procu We recognize that developer licences don't suit all situations and we are working on a per solution license. Meanwhile please contact us directly via email [email protected] so we discuss your indiviual requirements and offer you a customised price.
