File in Chrome not open just download

I'm on the same version of Chrome and it works on my end. Try disabling your other extensions. Generally markdown files should be displayed as plain text instead of you being prompted to download the file.

thx,I found the reason.my pc is windows,i need change regedit,like this:\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT.md, i need change Content Type from application/text to text/markdown.

I meet the same problem, but I'm on ubuntu, don't know how to solve it.

Same problem here in Chrome 96. Extension worked in previous chrome versions.
