Delay response time which keeps prolonging verification

Steps to reproduce

• Try to verify phone number using a non EU or US phone number

Actual result: unnecessary delay and frustration Expected result: actually verify my phone number and not putting me through unnecessary stress

I have a similar issue and have emailed support. When I try to register a number with country code +234, it takes me through the usual CAPTCHA and after a delay, I get an error saying "unable to request verification code. Please check network connecrion and try again" Now, if I retry the same number multiole times, Signal temporarily blocks registration because I tried too many times. I've tried with both Signal and Molly (a 3rd party app for Signal)
