Extending support for packages

Hello there, this is an awesome package... But this seems to lack support for external packages like chemfig. Is it at all possible to integrate such a thing to this? If possible, could anyone please suggest which paths to look for since I'm willing to contribute.

P.S. :- The chemfig package I linked above is used to render complex chemical formulae.
