@josephglanville i encountered some trouble with this too, so i released [`rules_graalvm`](https://github.com/sgammon/rules_graalvm) over the weekend, which supports use of GraalVM as a Java toolchain.

For now, this is on top of my previous PR at capnproto/capnproto#1904, but I could easily extricate it if needed. We are testing it on this revision in our own...

@Attempt3035 You are for sure on V1, though? Because the BCR module and default branch on this repo is V2, so you may already be on that. If you tested...
