Tested the latest commits and all works well, even when merged in with the latest commit to master here. Great work, @nielsbrakel, and I think this is ready to merge...

Hopefully soon, I still have to use my fork ATM to implement it but it absolutely is a massive UX upgrade for users visiting sites on a desktop/laptop/tablet.

That would be ideal, will have to look into that! If you're familiar I'd gladly accept a PR around that, and would tip in Monero for any work around that.
