True Multiserver support
I spent like > 20 hours the past week, to get a multiserver setup up and running on Ubuntu 16.04
Building this setup in mind, my goal was to archive that every server in this setup has a dedicated task.
My setup looks like this:
- panel00.myhost.tld Dedicated to all "control panels" like ISPConfig, PHPMyAdmin, RoundCube
- web00.myhost.tld Dedicated webserver with NGINX and FTP
- db00.myhost.tld Dedicated for MariaDB database (also used for ISPConfig Panel and ISPConfig control server instances)
- mx00.myhostr.tld Dedicated for MTA and IMAP/POP
- ns00.myhost.tld Dedicated for nameserver
The problem here is, that I had to install at least the webserver, database, MTA on each and every server, even when not needed.
Is it planned to make this more modular, so I can really set up a multiserver setup with a few clicks ? Maybe I am missing something.
Don't know if your still looking for an answer. From what Ive seen it only works in Debian 8. I ran this script with multi server option on Debian 8 and received the following additional questions that were not seen on other builds Do you want to setup a Master server Do you want to setup a Mail server Do you want to setup a Name server Do you want to setup a Database server If your still looking for an answer then I hope this helps
Any news?
@Neustradamus No news from me. I have never touched ISPConfig since then.
Is there any restriction to other systems than Debian 8? Do other distros have missing packages or something like that?
Hi, I cannot get multiserver Woking on Debian 8. How did you make it work @megadeth231 ?
Debian 10 will be released soon...
