orbot vpn triggers metered connection off-wi-fi warning

Playing any station triggers the metered connection warning ("Off-Wi-Fi Warning" in RadioDroid settings) using RadioDroid through Orbot (VPN mode) via unmetered wifi connection. Bypassing Orbot, i.e., allowing RadioDroid to connect directly to same wifi network by clearing the RadioDroid checkbox in Orbot, elminates this behavior.

RadioDroid 0.84 F-Droid, Android 11.

It's on Orbot, there is already a commit in Orbot repo which should fix this https://github.com/guardianproject/orbot/commit/729bffd2529c4349a99c443d3066600855e99ea0 (19 days ago). As far as I see it's not in any release yet.
