App 0.83 pauses playback on screen-off

Hi, as the title says: when turning off the screen (no matter if manually or time-triggered), the app seems to pause playback. Phone is a Huawei on stock Emui; while these are a bit notorious for aggressive app-kiiling and such, other radio apps work just fine screen on and off (tried VLC and Radionator recently).

What I can witness and mostly reproduce:

  • Playback stops about 3...4 seconds after the screen goes dark.

  • Turning the screen back on, the app will in the very most cases still run, but playback is paused. In very rare cases, the app just stops. I didn't find any rule to this.

  • If a BT speaker with controls is connected, I can usually resume playback with the screen still being off via play button on the speaker.

I disabled all the energy-saving bits for the Radiodroid app that I found. Again, other radio apps just work with all the battery-saving stuff untouched (it is on by default), so I would assume it's got something to do with Radiodroid (instead of just Emui killing it).

Hi,

I think logs would help, could you get logs from your device? Right after playback is stopped. See https://android.gadgethacks.com/how-to/android-basics-capture-logcat-for-detailed-bug-reports-0167774/ if you don't know how.

And are you able to build RadioDroid and test latest master, or would you be able to test a pre-built apk if I build one?

I think https://github.com/segler-alex/RadioDroid/issues/807 may affect the behavior (in a positive way).
