Yes, very good point. SGs are opinionated and not very flexible other than supporting BYO SGs. Modifying existing SGs are not supported. Need to go through a refactoring, tracked here...

We still have those fields in the manifests published, is this only related to e2e tests?
There were some discussions around this before. This might worth discussing in cluster-api office hours given that all providers are being affected by this.
