Running Dialog with Smart Buttons

Hi When running a Dialog from a smart button the dialog runs but opens as a new Tab a not a pop up window as is normal. Is there or can there be an option to give the dialog in a pop up new window? Thanks Wayne

Hi Wayne - this is because unfortunately there isn’t any supported way to show a modal dialog like the built in dialog button does.

OK thanks. I did the technique at https://ribbonworkbench.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/140652-create-a-dialog-short-cut-ribbon-button and that worked fine giving me modal dialogs, was hoping that maybe Smartbuttons could do the same as they are much easier to use :) Thanks anyway

I did consider it, but felt that since smart buttons is an installable solution I shouldn’t use unsupported techniques. Glad you got it sorted! 👍
