Instructions on how to use Indirect Loading

I do not see any clear instructions on how to use Indirect Loading. I have downloaded a game from the Epic Game Store. I tried to load it but got an error saying the "value cannot be null. Parameter name: value." I don't see where I need to pass anything else in. Some clarification on using this option would be helpful, especially with downloading games from launchers.
