Partest red X is bleached during updates

Reproduction steps

Scala version: 2.13.10

Problem

They are written red but turn white, either by partest or by sbt progress update. Some Xs at the right of the line remain red.

It is merely cosmetic, but it would be nice if it just worked.

the Scala build's quality control standard should be at least as high as Family Feud’s, where I'm confident the big Xs are always red.
