Geolocation Databases from ipapi.is

Open vmxdev opened this issue 1 year ago • 3 comments

Hello team!

Do you have any plans to use ipapi.is databases? These databases have a correspondence between IP addresses and countries, states, cities, latitude and longitude.

We're using your Autonomous Systems databases in our project https://github.com/vmxdev/xenoeye/ , but, unfortunately, we have to use their databases for GeoIP. it would be nice if the databases were in one place.

Thank you for great work!

Thanks!

It looks great! I would be willing to support this database once the licensing issues are cleared up!

I could not find any mention of a license. I see "Free IP Address Databases" at https://github.com/ipapi-is/ipapi, but I am wondering if this can be considered the same as a CC0 or CC By 4.0 license. Because they are developing a paid API with the database and I wonder if they can allow a third party repository.

If you know under what license they are releasing database, please let me know.

(I am not good at English, thus, I use DeepL translation. I apologize if the English is difficult to read.)

I asked them about the license, but they haven't responded yet. https://github.com/ipapi-is/ipapi/issues/4 Let's wait.

Don't worry about that, I'm using Google Translate too
