Hi there,

Great tool tool. However, just wanted to write that often a box with a line of text (see attached image) appears in the upper left corner of my screen and sits up there, overlaying the menu of the current program I am working in and making it impossible to access menu commands or select tabs under the box if I am using a browser. It appears and eventually goes away at random it seems, but often I have to disable WinCompose to be able to work.

I'm using the latest version Windows 10 (on a Microsoft Surface.)

Thanks and best, Erica

This is the popup that appears when the mouse pointer hovers the notificatuon icon. Could you maybe provide a screenshot so that I can understand how it happens?

Here's the screenshot. Look at the upper lefthand corner. wincompose_problem

Here's another one. This shows wincompose_problem2 how the pop-up covers up the menu in the program which makes it impossible to work in it...

A workaround I often use when this happens (not only with WinCompose but also with apps like DS4Windows) I just hover over the tray icon of the app and move the cursor it should then disappear.

Issue is still present in the current version (v0.9.8). The temp fix proposed by @second2050 works for me, but would prefer not having to use it.

Hi! And thank you for being patient. I believe this issue may be fixed in WinCompose 0.9.11. Could you please test the new version?

@samhocevar so far on my side I couldn't get that bug to show up again in 0.9.11; so on my side atleast it seems to be fixed

I just encountered this bug for the first time, on 0.9.11. So it's not fixed. Unclear to me what triggered it.

I am on 0.9.11 on Windows 11, and I am nagged too recently by the tooltip from wincompose which frequently appears and stays open, even without hovering over the tray icon at all. I guess the issue came up after I had updated windows to 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5027231) some weeks ago. I have all tray icons set to be shown in the taskbar settings, which is a security and usability issue for me. I have also set the taskbar to auto-hide so that it doesn't take screen estate when not needed. 2023-06-27 12_10_16-
