Immediately disables touchpad

Cloned, built and installed in Ubuntu 18.04 on a 2015 Macbook Air by following instructions https://int3ractive.com/2018/09/make-the-best-of-MacBook-touchpad-on-Ubuntu.html Touchpad is no longer responsive. I don't have feedback whether the driver is loaded/working or not. Also unsure whether it can be enabled/disabled easily. Tried MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*" but doesn't do anything. Please advice. Thank you.
