Option to replace windows notepad still not working in beta installer

Despite seeing numerous references to the broken notepad replacement feature being fixed in the beta installer it still appears to do nothing on Windows 11 24H2.

I'm using the Notepad3_6.25.216.1_beta_x64_Setup installer, and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times with no change. Opening Notepad (either via the start menu or by right-clicking on a file) still opens the system Notepad app.
