When navigating without Auto-rotate do not centre position to see more of the map in the direction of movement

Another feature I saw on a stand-alone car navigation system. Right now with Auto-rotate switched on, the position marker is not in the centre of the map but somewhere near the bottom so that one can see more of the map in the direction of travel. That car navigation had the same feature even with Auto-rotate switched off. In that case the position marker was always near the edge of the map but not always at the bottom but anywhere depending on the direction of movement. So the map had to be moved additionally if the direction changed. I hope you understand what I mean. Of course this is not a top priority feature request but would be like the icing on the cake. :-)
