This makes good sense, but is more complicated than the base image updates. - IMO, we have no good choice but to accept base image updates and rebuild / republish....
Can you share some code that is Windows-specific?
Can you create a small repro and test it on multiple of your machines and show the result? A console app should be sufficient.
Is multi-stage build an option? It looks like you are exploring that in your other issue. Also, you can do single-stage build but `COPY` node using a scheme like this:...
