I am not sure how this is supposed to work, you are talking about stdout/stderr showing up in /var/log/messages? Podman has no control over this.

BTW I agree that the python bindings should be in a separate repo. Although I am not volunteering. :^)

Podman 2.0 which is in release candidate stage now supports the REST API of the docker daemon.

Excellent.

The risk is that Podman would loose track of the container processes, so it would not easily be able to kill the container.
