Replacing espeak phonemizer with epitran
Hi,
We are looking to train a Bengali voice using piper and from our previous experiments with MatchaTTS, we learnt that epitran phonemization works better with this specific language compared to espeak-ng. So, we want to replace espeak phonemizer with epitran phonemizer, how do we go about doing that while making minimum changes to the code? Any advice regarding this would be of great help.
Thank you!
In the next version of Piper, I have actually ported epitran to become part of Piper's phonemizer 🙂
@synesthesiam When is the tentative timeline for the release of the next version?

+1
Also, Is there an open branch containing this change that we could experiment with now?
Looking forward to the new version.
Just checking if there's an update on this change? Is there a branch available?
