So will it be added at least when sdl v2.6 would be released? Btw there are already 2 pre-release versions https://github.com/libsdl-org/SDL_image/releases/tag/prerelease-2.5.3 that supports avif...

https://github.com/libsdl-org/SDL_image/releases/tag/release-2.6.0 final/stable/(name as u want) was released and I hope that this words https://github.com/renpy/renpy/issues/2977#issuecomment-902392919 would lead finally to some real action :)
