We should test: Upgrading from 21.11. to 22.2-rc (via hop to 22.1.) Upgrading from 22.1. to 22.2-rc I understand that if we are doing (2) and we have presumably done 21.11. to 22.1. testing when releasing those minor versions, then effectively we have done (1) already, but it would still be useful to explicitly test.

I agree. We should have upgrade tests between at least the latest of each supported major release.
