Since 0.8.0.0, manually opening edge opens both chrome and edge

Steps to reproduce

Open edge from start menu or search and it will open a new Edge window and a new Chrome window.

AppGeneral.log entry when occurring -> 2025/04/08 22:15:04 - Caught Other Edge Call: (nothing else).

✔️ Expected Behavior

Since I'm manually opening Edge, I would think just Edge should open normally. Or at least, just Chrome and not both Edge and Chrome. Though, I really would prefer just Edge opens since I have a specific use case for Edge hence manually opening it (as was pre-0.8.0.0).

❌ Actual Behavior

Both an Edge and Chrome window open.

I see the exact same behaviour, I actually came here to report this but I see it's already been reported.

Same behavior, only different default browser - both Edge and Vivaldi open new windows.

MSER 0.8.0.0 24H2 OS Build 26120.3872 (Insider Beta) system default browser is Vivaldi (stable, presently 7.3.3635.11)

Same behaviour with Firefox.

I sometimes intentionally open Edge via the start menu, there should be an exemption for that.

Hope this gets fixed soon, otherwise I will have to abandon this utility as this is more common of an annoyance than Windows opening Edge against my will.

Found a temporary solution - unchecking Edge Stable in the settings stops this behaviour:

However, I also found that the settings app does not let you uncheck these boxes, it just resets after saving and reopening. I had to un- and reinstall and uncheck that box right from the beginning to stop this behaviour. Another bug in this app. Hope the dev gets around to fixing it, because right now that means disabling core functionality too.
