Any Way To Make Bots More Command/Order Based? Also Less Trigger Happy.
It is really neat how they can navigate through all the levels, but they either run too ahead for me to catch up, get lost or killed. Is there any way to make them choose to follow and cover you indefinitely, as well as waiting for as long as the player wants? Think of it as a smarter barney.
An addition, bot always tend to shoot every little destructible thing in the map, such as windows, boxes vending machines. Its rather annoying and they waste ammo.
I made a squad based interface in RCBot 1 for Svencoop which was inspired by Operation Flashpoint at the time (original Arma game) where you could set up bot squads, give them formations while following you, tell them to hold fire etc. Do you think that would be worth having or something a bit more automatic?
Also are the say commands useful or not ? You can tell individual bots to wait or follow you (but sometimes if they lose you they'll lose interest and wander off) Let me know.
