Is there plans or and possibility of adding a tree view to view remote file structure as well as opening files from there?

That would be great feature but i think it would be difficult. Lets hope :)

Sadly, this feature has been declined by the upstream rmate project. TextMate's developer noted that it would require implementing some sort of file transfer functionality in the editor. His recommended solution is mounting the remote directories and editing them that way, leaving the file transfer part to a dedicated program.

I myself also found that this feature is difficult to be implemented. While rmate is supposed to be a lightweight tool for editing remote files, such feature may lead to more confusions. The ability and effectiveness of keeping tracks of all files in the tree is also questionable.
