Next release ?

Hi, im writing this as one of the maintainers of quickwit on nixos. Due to an incompatibility with a newer rust version, quickwit is currently broken on nixos. I was wondering if there was a release planned soon ? Otherwise we can also upgrade to just point to master. Thank you for quickwit!

Hi. We are working on it. There are some stability improvements that are still in progress and we would really like to include them in the release. We'll keep you posted.

Hi, just following up on this. I am evaluating Quickwit for an important project, however I am a little confused: main seems to be moving forward nicely but there's not a lot of clarity on the actual release plan, and the official documentation website is not updated. I understand that the situation has changed after the acquisition. Any clarification would be much appreciated!

exactly the same thing here, we're evaluating Quickwit for an important project (for which we'll be mostly using S3+Lambda). I'm curious if it's safe to pick 0.8 version for that, or should we wait for the next release? (lambda runtimes are postfixed with -beta)

Your observation is correct. Quickwit is being actively developed, but the release process is frozen for now.

the official documentation website is not updated

FYI, you can access the documentation for main here (or using the dropdown) and it is maintained.

That feature is in beta and we don't have plans to actively improve it beyond bare minimum maintenance. The reason is that it never got enough traction to justify a development budget for it. You should use it in production only if you are willing to tweak it yourself, and contribution are still very welcome!
