Add website block options
Please, Add new options to protect my kids from objectionable activity . If you add website block feature . It will be great help for my nice and heavenly family. Thanks
Could there be an option to edit the HOSTS file? The hosts file can block specific sites.
Example: 127.0.0.1 www.nascar.com (if you went on www.nascar.com it would redirect you to 127.0.0.1)
With admin privileges on the client it's already possible via the File Manager.
@MaxXor Thats great but could they see that a file is trying to edit and access the HOSTS file?
@trollmad3 The HOSTS file can only be modified by Windows administrators, so even if they know it exists not much could be done by them unless they were running admin accounts.
@stuntguy3000 what would happen if you ran the RAT as an admin?
Kinda necroposting but this wasn't closed and if you do have thoughts on using this;
this would be the most abused feature, people could block access to google search sites or the use of other antiviruses. Easily abused.
they would block like {antivirusname.com/download} and antivirusname.com
@dogo99 You are only ruining features. The creator of the RAT specifically said that the creator is not responsible for the user's actions of what he or she does with this program. This feature as the person said who created this issue can be used for good such as blocking adult websites or anything else that the user is not allowed to go on. Anything good on GitHub can be abused to turn bad, it's control is the user to make it good or bad, not the creator.
@Aholicknight I mean, this is still one of the less intrusive features, unlike remote webcam and microphone. I'm fine with adding website blocks.
I mean to be fair. 50% or more of these people are just people telling someone they have a free robux hack or something to get their account. most people are children and don't know legal and illegal things. They wouldn't think once or twice to block a website that could help the user themselves remove it. For example, if someone makes a quasar rat remover and the download is blocked. Same with an antivirus, there could be implementations like whitelisted sites, but again some skript skiddie will just edit the source code and remove it. It's just that there are ways to disable windows defender without getting the original application detected as a virus. That's why I feel like this is going to be the most abused feature
Plus like, do children have 0 privacy now, like seriously?
Anyways. I just don't feel like this feature really has much positive additions as negative additions. A company sure wouldn't be thrilled to block the domain duckduckgo.com or something like that. And I know several youtubers Who make these unneeded crypts for quasar and gets thousands of views. Meaning people are going to use it for bad. But I guess password recovery exists.
Maybe a good solution would be like selling an enterprise edition? And then adding website block in that? Because a illegal user would need to buy it.
It's just my opinion nonetheless
@dogo99 "selling an enterprise edition"
So selling it to people would make it right? Allowing the RAT to become open source will allow anyone to contribute it, as soon as you make an "enterprise edition" you would close open source. And selling the program doesn't make it right also, any blackhat or whitehat can buy it and do whatever they want. A lot of legal security programs exist that require money and people still use it for bad so I don't know why making an "enterprise edition" would make it right. Just keep the program as it is and let the creator do what he wants with the program. It's not hurting you...right?
Dude there's no doubt on my mind that over 50% of people here want to use it for illegal purposes. Maybe to a point where the original poster faked his reasoning and if he didn't, still idk why people rat their kids but I can tell you, right now you're just playing the game where, yes this can help one person, but now you can successfully fuck someone's PC up. And plus. We already have a registry editor, so all the user needs to do is probably add a registry key to disable UAC then use the command line to disable reset this PC, and now the user has completely lost everything, unless he just wipes his hard drive. Any experienced hacker easily knows how to do this, I know how to do this. It's just that, if we do add it, why isn't there like a company check or some stuff like that to make sure the company is real then sell it. I'm sure someone who uses this for illegal purposes won't just create a company for 5 seconds
@dogo99 Just let the creator do what he wants. He can add anything he wants to this program and it's not involving you in any way. I don't know why you need to be bitchy and say "tHiS Is gOnNa bE uSeD fOr ilLeGaL PurPosEs" like holy fuck adding this won't end the world. If you don't like it then don't comment and don't use his program. Simple, but not for you. It's not the creator's fault that if the person uses this for illegal purposes as the first window says "WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY; without even the implied warranty of MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE" If you want to actually be useful and not target legitimate devs making a useful program, you should actually go after REAL malware programs such as AZORULT and more. Piss off.
Calm down @Aholicknight, there is no need for personal insults. This is a free and open-source project with no planned paid versions. Furthermore it can be forked anytime by anyone and all the features can be added there without my involvement.
